Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect

When you join the SizzleHire waitlist, we collect:

• Email address — provided by you when you sign up
• Approximate location — city and state derived from your IP address (via Cloudflare)
• Referral source — how you found us (UTM parameters from links)
• Device and browser information — type, screen size, operating system
• Browsing behavior — pages viewed, clicks, scroll depth, time on page
• Session recordings — anonymized recordings of your browsing session for product improvement (text inputs are masked by default)

2. Why We Collect It

• To manage your position on the waitlist
• To send you product updates and launch announcements
• To understand how people use our site so we can improve it
• To personalize your experience (e.g., showing your city in messaging)
• To prevent abuse (rate limiting, spam detection)

3. How We Store It

Your data is stored on Cloudflare's infrastructure in the United States (D1 database, Western North America region). Data is encrypted in transit via TLS and at rest.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following services to operate SizzleHire:

• Cloudflare — hosting, database (D1), content delivery, web analytics, and security
• Resend — transactional and marketing email delivery
• PostHog — product analytics, session replay, and conversion tracking

We do not sell your personal information to any third party. These services process data solely on our behalf to operate the waitlist.

5. Mobile and SMS Information

If you opt in to receive SMS messages from SizzleHire, we will never sell, share, or provide your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in data to third parties or lead generators for marketing or promotional purposes. SMS consent is not a condition of any purchase or waitlist membership.

Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out of SMS at any time by replying STOP.

6. Email Communications

By joining the waitlist, you agree to receive product updates, launch announcements, and occasional tips about restaurant hiring from SizzleHire. We send approximately 1-2 emails per month.

Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link. We honor unsubscribe requests immediately. We comply with the CAN-SPAM Act.

7. Analytics and Session Recording

We use PostHog to understand how visitors interact with our site. This includes tracking page views, clicks, scroll behavior, and recording browsing sessions. Text inputs in forms are masked by default in session recordings.

PostHog processes data on US-based servers. We do not use cookies for analytics — PostHog runs in cookieless mode.

We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which collects anonymized traffic data without using cookies or collecting personal information.

To opt out of analytics tracking, you can enable your browser's Do Not Track setting or use a browser extension that blocks analytics scripts.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Correction — request we update inaccurate data
• Deletion — request we delete your data (honored within 30 days)
• Opt-out — unsubscribe from emails or SMS at any time

9. Data Retention

We retain your waitlist data for the duration of the pre-launch period and up to 12 months after our public launch. If you have not created an account by then, we delete your data. Deletion requests are honored within 30 days and cascade to all sub-processors (Resend, PostHog, Cloudflare D1).

10. California Residents

If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), including the right to know what personal information we collect and the right to request deletion.

We do not currently sell or share your personal information as defined by the CCPA. If this changes in the future (for example, if we implement advertising pixels that share data with ad platforms), we will update this policy and provide a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" option.

11. Children's Privacy

SizzleHire is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us at privacy@sizzlehire.com and we will delete it promptly.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on our website. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
